ITRI develops the Fiber Laser module from kilo-watts continuous wave (CW) laser sources the 500W CW laser sources, to medium power range nanosecond pulsed laser sources. Its current aim is on laser sources for metal additive manufacturing. ITRI’s laser sources can apply in different techniques, such as metal/non-metal sculpture, drilling, cutting, etc. Related applications include hand tools, automotive parts, photoelectric components, sports equipment, sports goods, and cultural/creative/jewelry arts. Based on the industry requirements, ITRI also builds a laser processing test laboratory to provide related services.
Laser Color or Flare Marking Technology
ITRI developed the high stability lasers with pulse-width adjustable ability, such as fiber splicing and master oscillation power amplifier (MOPA). Due to high stability and extensive output ranges from femtosecond pulse (fs) to continuous wave (CW). Hence ITRI lasers have a variety of applications, including metals, ceramics, plastics, etc.
The range of materials like stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum is possible to laser mark with color. The flare effect also part of capability with using ITRI Fiber Laser Marker. Different from surface finishes and material types affect the color marking process.
500W CW Fiber Laser
The made in Taiwan ITRI’s high power continuous wave (CW) laser sources with patented optical design, cutting carbon steel, stainless steel, alumina, or copper in different thickness. The laser sources, applied to different size cutting machines, achieves a speed of 6 m/min speed in 1.5mm thickness stainless steel.
ITRI’s uniquely designed dual-pulsed laser source can output picosecond and nanosecond pulsed combinations. Pico-second laser pulse modifies the material surface, while nanosecond laser pulse removes material. With the two-type pulsed combination, ITRI dual-pulsed laser achieves four times higher speed with the comparison to those of competitors, especially in the brittle non-metallic material (ceramics) and transparent material (glass).
